Recently I started running again! Honestly it’s one of my favorite types of exercises along with dancing. When I am running I feel strong. It’s one of those types of activities that give you a natural high (runner’s high).
I am not going to lie, I was a little rusty and felt like I was dying after the first couple of minutes. Then all of a sudden my lungs no longer burned and my chest had this cooling sensation going through it. This is when it starts to feel really good to run. I might be a little dramatic but hey! Don’t judge me!
I think the hardest thing about running is starting. It’s about finding that motivation that’s going to get you out of bed in the first place. I find that talking to myself as if I am outside of my body helps push me. I pretend that I am a coach essentially coaching myself. I’ll find my self saying out loud, “Pick it up”, “You got this,” and “one more lap.”
Just over the past couple days of running I already notice that my recovery time is really fast and It doesn’t take me long to start running again after I had stopped. Sometimes when I feel like I can’t push my self anymore I think of that movie 4 Minute Mile, I highly recommend you watch it. My goal is to be able to run a mile with out stopping and eventually do a 5k run. I was thinking about using some running apps to help with my progress as well.
