Started running again!

Recently I started running again! Honestly it’s one of my favorite types of exercises along with dancing. When I am running I feel strong. It’s one of those types of activities that give you a natural high (runner’s high).

I am not going to lie, I was a little rusty and felt like I was dying after the first couple of minutes. Then all of a sudden my lungs no longer burned and my chest had this cooling sensation going through it. This is when it starts to feel really good to run. I might be a little dramatic but hey! Don’t judge me!

I think the hardest thing about running is starting. It’s about finding that motivation that’s going to get you out of bed in the first place. I find that talking to myself as if I am outside of my body helps push me. I pretend that I am a coach essentially coaching myself. I’ll find my self saying out loud, “Pick it up”, “You got this,” and “one more lap.”

Just over the past couple days of running I already notice that my recovery time is really fast and It doesn’t take me long to start running again after I had stopped. Sometimes when I feel like I can’t push my self anymore I think of that movie 4 Minute Mile, I highly recommend you watch it. My goal is to be able to run a mile with out stopping and eventually do a 5k run. I was thinking about using some running apps to help with my progress as well.   1. So many blogger friends have had a ton of success with the couch to 5k app. Sounds like you are already starting to get a base so the way the app has you build slowly will probably be perfect. Isn’t running the best?! You’re so right, the starting is the worst. Whenever I start my first thought is “this sucks, why am i doing this?” But then you just keep on and it gets so much better. Enjoy, happy running! x
